NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Review

With the UK heatwave showing no signs of stopping, it was about time my ghostly pale face matched the rest of my sun kissed body. Last month I went on the hunt for a tinted moisturizer and with so many brands available it was a difficult choice. Eventually after spending way too much time in Space NK I came away with the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (I know I’m late to the party, why hadn’t I tried this sooner?)

I’m always hesitant about splurging on base products as so many break me out/irritate my skin but luckily, after a month of testing out my new purchase, it’s a relief to say that I’ve not had any issues. It’s been the perfect alternative to foundation as it’s much more lightweight which is a godsend for these hot, sweaty days. It does provide slightly less coverage than your average foundation, but that’s exactly what I was looking for this Summer; I don’t know about you but I can’t face packing on a heavy base to sweat it right back off again.

Before (left) – No makeup / After (right) – One light layer

For those days I need that extra coverage, (which let me tell you my skin is freaking out in this humidity) I use my trusty Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer which blends so well on top of the tinted moisturizer as does the rest of my makeup!

Now I know you’re “supposed” to colour match your base to your jawline/neck and warm up the rest of the face with bronzer, but that just isn’t working for me due to the rest of my body being so dark. So I picked up the shade Medium 1 – St Moritz and it matches the rest of my body perfectly.

I like to apply the product with my hands, starting in the middle of my face, focusing on my problem areas (for me this is my nose and cheeks) and blending the remainder onto the rest of my face and down onto the neck. I find this technique really works as I’m distributing the product exactly where I want it. It’s also so easy to layer, I like to go in with small amounts and build where I need to. Initially I don’t notice too much of a difference but after about 15mins of letting this absorb into my skin, the results are beautiful and the longer it’s on my face, the better it looks.

3 light layers (pea size amounts) left to melt into the skin with some bronzer & mascara to finish.

My skin is left looking more even and with a tint (just what I wanted). The finish is exactly what it says on the packaging – radiant and natural with a healthy glow. I love that it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything on my skin and have no worries about it clogging my pores. Not only does it have the benefit of containing an SPF30/PA +++ but it’s also available in 9 shades, is made without parabens/sulfates and is oil free. I will definitely be picking this up in my Winter shade!
