So far this Summer I have found so many new things I am loving which are just too good not to share with you guys!
If you follow me on Instagram you will already know I am a little bit obsessed with the straw/basket bag trend. And just to switch things up a little I had to get another one. My excuse is, it’s not as bulky and more of a practical ‘every day Summer bag’. There are so many styles and versions out there but this one in particular from Accessorize caught my eye. The floral embroidered raffia pattern and the brown leather strap definitely drew my attention. It’s the perfect size & such a versatile accessory. I’m already getting so much wear out of it.
Here I’ve styled it with an all white outfit, because lets face it, Summer is the best time of year to wear white and show off the bronzed goddesses that we are. I think the neutral straw shade compliments the white and breaks up the outfit really well.
Sliders are everywhere right now! I’m in love with the Dune sandal sliders every blogger seems to have atm but didn’t want to splash out on a pair. Instead, I came across these tan leather effect woven sandal sliders and I can’t stop wearing them. They go with EVERYTHING and I mean everything. I am wearing them to death and think I may have to grab a second pair!
Linen is everywhere throughout the Summer months. It’s such a light, breezy fabric to throw on on those hot humid days. I was on the hunt for a pair of linen trousers and found the pair pictured above, in Primark for just £10. They look amazing with bodysuits, vest tops, tee’s, pretty much anything goes. These are definitely a staple for my Summer wardrobe!
Lets talk tassle earrings. My mum thinks I’m crazy that I like them. But I really do. I think they spice up a simple outfit and can take you from day to night so easily. Like I said, I wear a lot of white during the Summer season and fancied adding a pop of colour. I opted for these beautiful mustard yellow earrings from Accessorize and I absolutely love them. I’m not usually a jewellery kinda gal but for these I make an exception. I think accessories are such a great way to inject colour into your wardrobe if you don’t have the confidence to wear a bright garment.
Moving onto beauty/skincare. I promised a review of the Kiehls Spf when I first picked it up so lets just get straight into it – It’s amazing. Regrettably, sunscreen has never been a party of my daily skincare routine until now; I never step out the house without slapping on Kiehls Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50. After years of putting my face through endless years of sun damage I wanted to try out an Spf that had the best protection for my skin. I did a lot of research into which could be the best one and let me tell you this stuff does the job. I love that it doesn’t interfere with my makeup, hasn’t broke me out, while still containing a whole lotta good ingredients that work to protect my skin from them rays.
If you’re on the hunt for a good spf and like me had the worry that it could cause breakouts and would feel like you’ve wasted your penny’s (‘cos lets face it, this stuff ain’t cheap, but there’s a reason why), definitely give the Kiehls Spf a try, I highly recommend it. I went into a lot more detail in last Sundays video over on my Youtube Channel so check it out if you want to find out more.
The final product I thought was worth a mention is Charlotte Tilbury’s Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask. This is basically a lightweight moisturizer that you put on before bed which gives your skin a little more hydration with some anti-aging perks thrown in in addition to a flawless, natural colour payoff by morning. Now this mask isn’t going to mean you’re going to wake up with a dramatically different shade to your skin. This is just a subtle, gradual self-tanner for the face.
I like it but I don’t love it. I personally am after a little more of a deeper tan shade because my body is so tanned and my face is pale, I need something to even it all out which this product just doesn’t give the intensity I perhaps require. That being said, I like the natural tint it is giving me which is why I’m still using it while I find a high street alternative. I apply this every other day, it’s streak free and so easy to use. It’s definitely worth a try if you’re after a subtle sunkissed look.
